ACADEMIC TITLE AND POSITION Dr. / Lecturer
CURRENT ACADEMIC STATUS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Dr. Dorina Xhani, is a University Lecturer and Researcher in the fields of Social Work, Psychology, and Social Policy. She holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Tirana, a Master’s degree in European Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Her academic background is supported by long-standing experience in higher education teaching and scientific research.
POSITION She currently serves as a Lecturer and Researcher at Barleti University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Tourism and Sport, and is actively involved as Project Manager of the Barleti Association, overseeing the management and implementation of international projects, including Erasmus+, EPSI, and related initiatives.
CONTRIBUTIONS Dr. Dorina Xhani has authored and co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications, including articles published in Scopus-indexed and international journals, covering areas such as social work, psychology, child development, mental health, education, gender studies, and social policy. She has participated in over 20 national and international scientific conferences, presenting research findings and contributing to interdisciplinary academic dialogue. Her academic activity also includes extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision of student research, and active involvement in more than 40 EU-funded and international projects related to education, social inclusion, and capacity building.
ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS OF INTEREST Dr. Xhani is actively engaged in academic teaching, scientific research, and international cooperation, with key areas of interest including social and educational policies, child and family welfare, mental health, inclusive services, and evidence-based interventions. She has proven experience in the design, coordination, and implementation of projects at both national and EU levels, and is actively involved in academic and professional networks that support research excellence, education development, and social innovation.
