ACADEMIC TITLE AND POSITION	MSc. / Assistant Lecturer
CURRENT ACADEMIC STATUS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND	Gert Metani has an interdisciplinary academic background in Sports Sciences, Law, and Security. He completed a Bachelor degree in Movement Sciences and a Master of Science in Physical Activity and Health at the Sports University of Tirana. His academic background also encompasses law and security. He earned a Bachelor degree in Law from the University of Tirana (2020) and a Master of Science in Law from the European University of Tirana (2023), where he was awarded a Certificate of Excellence. Additionally, he graduated from the Security Academy and completed the School of Advocacy. His combined education in Sports Sciences, Law, and Security gives his academic profile a distinctive interdisciplinary character, particularly in sports, security, athletic training, and sports law.
POSITION	Gert Metani currently serves as a full-time lecturer at Barleti University, within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Tourism and Sports, Department of Physical Education and Sports. He also serves as a part-time lecturer at the Sports University of Tirana and previously taught in the Department of Psychology, Education and Sports at the European University of Tirana. Since 2021, he has contributed to teaching and the development of academic programs in Physical Education and Sports. His teaching activities cover subjects related to training theory and methodology, fitness, athletic performance, and other sports-related disciplines.
CONTRIBUTIONS	His professional and research activities focus on Sports Sciences, Physical Education and Health, Sports Law, Technology in Sports, and Sports Management. His scientific research includes the study of contemporary training methods and their effects on physical and neuromuscular performance. He has participated in national and international academic and research activities, as well as Erasmus+ mobility programs, gaining teaching experience at Uppsala University in Sweden, Dunărea de Jos University of Galați in Romania, and the University of Valladolid in Spain. Gert Metani is also involved in sports-related project management.
ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS OF INTEREST	His areas of interest include Sports Sciences, Physical Education, Fitness & Wellness, Strength & Conditioning, and CrossFit. His professional background is further enriched by previous experience in the RENEA Special Forces of the Albanian State Police, as well as experience as a football referee in championships organized by the Albanian Football Association. He has professional-level proficiency in English, Italian, French, and Spanish. Gert Metani is married and has one son.
